You must be at least 13 years old to use DiaryVault. Users under 18 should have parental consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

🔐 Account Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device and login credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Using strong passwords and device security features (Face ID, Touch ID)

✅ You May:

• Write personal journal entries about your thoughts and experiences
• Upload photos to accompany your entries
• Use AI enhancement features to improve your writing
• Export and backup your own data
• Use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes

❌ You May NOT:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the app
• Share your account with others
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Abuse or spam our support channels
• Resell or redistribute the Service
• Use automated tools to access the Service

📝 Your Content

You own your journal entries. You retain all rights to the content you create in DiaryVault. We do not claim ownership of your journal entries, photos, or any other content you submit.

📜 License to Us

By using DiaryVault, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and display your content to you
• Process your content with AI when you enable enhancement features
• Backup your content to provide cloud sync
• Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve the Service

This license ends when you delete your content or account.

🏢 Our Property

DiaryVault owns all rights to:

• The DiaryVault app, design, and logo
• All software, code, and technology
• Documentation and user guides
• Trademarks and branding

💳 Premium Subscription

DiaryVault offers optional premium subscriptions with enhanced features:

• Monthly Premium: $4.99/month
• Yearly Premium: $39.99/year (33% savings)

🔄 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You'll be charged through your Apple ID account.

❌ Cancellation

You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings:

1. Open iPhone Settings
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Select DiaryVault
5. Tap Cancel Subscription

💰 Refunds

All payments are processed through Apple's App Store. Refund requests must be made directly to Apple. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.

⚖️ Service "As Is"

DiaryVault is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• That all bugs will be fixed
• That the Service will meet your specific needs
• That AI-generated content will be perfect or suitable

🚫 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DiaryVault and its team shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data due to device failure or user error
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits or business opportunities
• Any damages exceeding the amount you paid us in the last 12 months

🏥 Not Medical or Professional Advice

Important: DiaryVault is a journaling app, not a medical or mental health service. AI-generated content is for personal reflection only and should not be considered professional advice.

🚪 Your Right to Leave

You can delete your account anytime through the app:

1. Go to Settings
2. Scroll to "Account Management"
3. Tap "Delete Account"
4. Confirm deletion

When you delete your account:

• All your journal entries are permanently deleted
• Your subscription is cancelled (no refunds for remaining time)
• Your data is removed from our servers within 30 days
• This action cannot be undone

🔨 Our Right to Terminate

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• Your account is used for illegal activities
• You abuse or compromise the Service
• Payment fails and remains unresolved

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:

• We'll update the "Effective Date" at the top
• We'll notify you through the app or email (if provided)
• Material changes will require your acceptance
• Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms

We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

📍 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

⚖️ Dispute Resolution

If you have any concerns or disputes:

1. Contact us first: Most issues can be resolved through our support team
2. Informal negotiation: We'll try to resolve disputes informally
3. Arbitration: If needed, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in California

🚫 Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions or class arbitrations.
